Vacancy - International Liaison Officer, Chevening Scholarships Secretariat

Are you interested in supporting British Embassies and High Commissions?

Do you have a diplomatic and customer orientated approach with international experience gained by working overseas or in an international organisation?

If so, you could gain valuable experience as an International Liaison Officer for the Chevening Scholarships Secretariat at the Association of Commonwealth Universities.


As International Liaison Officer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting the scholarships centrally from London and supporting British Embassies and High Commissions in doing the same locally as well as discussing policy and guidance with Chevening Officers at British Embassies and High Commissions.
  • Co-ordinating the sifting, long-listing and short-listing process of applications, including supporting Reading Committees who assess the applications.
  • Providing administrative support during the interview process of candidates which are held at British Embassies and High Commissions.
  • Establishing Chevening budgets for British Embassies and High Commissions and other administrative tasks.
  • Assisting British Embassies and High Commissions in their pre-departure events for selected scholars, which may include visiting some British Embassies and High Commissions and giving presentations to scholars.
  • Presenting on Chevening to FCO staff, British Embassies and High Commissions, applicants, Scholars, alumni, partners, and other stakeholder groups.
